  1. What program or major did you pursue at NCTC, and what inspired that choice?

I decided to pursue an Associate of Arts because I wanted to complete my four-year education in the most affordable way possible. The smaller campus environment at NCTC made it easy to feel connected and supported within the community.

  1. What drew you to NCTC originally?

The affordability and size of the institution initially attracted me to NCTC, but what made me want to stay was the strong sense of community and the many opportunities available, particularly through the Student Government Association (SGA) and campus life.

  1. Can you describe a class, project, or professor at NCTC that had a lasting impact on you?

Professors Heath French and Adam Ramsey played a major role in encouraging me to pursue philosophy as a degree. Their lectures and assignments inspired me to think critically about responsibility, leadership, and community engagement.

  1. Where has your career path taken you since graduating from NCTC?

I now serve as a Senior Counselor at the University of North Texas, where I guide students in their pursuit of careers in the health professions.

  1. How did your time at NCTC prepare you for your current role or next steps in education?

NCTC gave me a strong academic foundation, allowing me to focus on my major courses after transferring to UNT. I also graduated debt-free thanks to the money I saved during my time at NCTC. My involvement in SGA taught me how to network, lead, and build lasting relationships, skills that continue to serve me well today.

  1. What’s one professional accomplishment you’re especially proud of?

I was honored to receive the Supervisor of the Year Award at UNT. I believe the groundwork I developed through SGA, especially learning to collaborate and lead effectively helped prepare me for this achievement.

  1. Were you involved in any student organizations, clubs, or activities while at NCTC? How did that shape your experience?

Yes, I served as Student Government Association President. That experience taught me the importance of networking, professionalism, and representing student voices with integrity.

  1. What advice would you give to current or incoming NCTC students?

Don’t let your dreams remain dreams. Even goals that seem distant or too ambitious can be reached one small step at a time.

  1. What does being an NCTC alum mean to you?

It means being a role model. I’ve been where NCTC students are now, and I want them to see that their goals are attainable with perseverance, they can go even further.
